Don't Be 'That Guy' -- These Are Things Men In Their 30's Need To Stop Doing

Since age 19, I’ve been acting 21. I’m now 28, and I’m truly starting to feel the effects of aging. It started with the hangovers; they went from minutes to days all too quick. The last time I went to Vegas, I was hungover for a week — not exaggerating. On top of the painful hangovers, my body has started to crumble. If I get screened in my basketball league, my life is literally at risk. Back in the day, I played through concussions. Even going to the gym is a problem. Every time I hit the weights now, I need to follow it up with yoga to avoid back pain. Those of you in your late 20’s get it; these are the effects of aging we simply can’t control. That being said, there’s a lot we can control and need to control.

When you hit the dirty thirty, it’s a wake-up call that it’s time to grow up — at least a little bit (as if the week-long hangovers weren’t evidence enough). Life doesn’t end and marriage (or children) isn’t a must, but there are some things that seriously need to stop. So do it big, man. Celebrate your twenties hard. Then act your age. Get rid of the flat brim, drop the earrings and control the things you can control- like these. There’s nothing worse than being a late bloomer.
