California Raises Legal Age To Buy Tobacco From 18 To 21 And Implements New E-Cig Regulations

For those living in California, this might be some very big news. We can confirm that on Wednesday California governor Jerry Brown approved raising the legal age of purchasing tobacco to 21. The law will come into effect very soon, June 9 to be exact. This comes after a long, long deliberation on how the detrimental effects of tobacco not just to the general population but to adolescents. California is now the second state to raise the legal age which goes to show what the future might hold.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I am totally supportive of this. No one can say tobacco or smoking is good for the body. It’s been killing people for years, and it’s important that these laws are set to deter the new generation from picking up this horrible habit. The laws will also affect the vaping industry, but the details are still under wraps. What we do know is that vape companies will have to be pre-approved by the FDA with regulations on what’s inside the actual juices. These are both monumental moves in the right direction.
